More New Decals Announced

With much help from Mr. Anthony Hardy, we have introduced a series of decals for the L&N PS-3 3-bay 15-panel 80-ton hoppers. There are numerous sets in this series due to many differences in the prototypes, and thanks to Mr. Hardy's help, we will (eventually) have all the varieties for ya'll. Right now, we have 4 of the potential 8 sets available for sell, and they are defined on a table so you can pick the correct set. Each set has subtle differences based on date built, builder, and many other items. If you are confused about which set to purchase, please email us at coalbeltdecals@cs.com.

New Product Line Announcement

We would like to announce that a new product line will be joining the CBD family - COAL. Well, acutally, the product is coal slag, but it looks like prototype coal in the hopper cars. We will be offering this in two different sizes, one larger size (like lump or block coal in HO scale) and one smaller size (more like stoker or "flood loaded" coal in HO scale). Please visit this new section if you're interested in this product.

New Decal Announcement

We would like to cordially announce the new decal sets available.  First, we have the (Long awaited) SECX Green 3-bay hopper car set, the Orange Ale-8-1 beverage delivery truck set, and finally, the "Heavy Loading" dots applied to CSX hoppers.

New Version2.0 on it's way...

Coming Soon, we plan on updating the site for a new look.  Because of the way the current site is constructed, Freeservers has a tendancy to put their banners on all four frames, which really destroys the look of the site in our eyes... I don't mind the banners in general, but the placement is irritating....  So, we've simplified the site, using only two frames, and hopefully the banners won't be as distracting.  Look for this update soon.

Hummm... New Address...

Well, sometime over the weekend of March 24th, GO.COM, in their 'infinite wisdom' decided that they didn't want to host free websites any longer.... without warning, email, or even a "sorry, Dude", they deleted the entire server that housed the Coal Belt Decals homepage (as well as many, many other peoples' pages).  Luckily, we really didn't loose anything but some business....

So, we've landed here, at Freeservers.com, at least for now.... I don't trust any of these free sites anymore.  Just keep in mind that anytime you need to get in touch with us here at the Shop, just use the email coalbeltdecals@cs.com and there shouldn't be any problems.....

New page on this site... "WANTED"

We have posted a new page here on the Coal Belt Decals website where you can help us.  It's a list of specific things that we need to either begin, complete or update a decal set that we have.  Please follow this link to the WANTED page and see if there is anything there that you can help us with.

As always, our "Finders Fee" for supplying information is between 2 and 5 or the decal sets you help us make, and is negotiable based on the information.

More New Decal Sets !

We've been working hard here at Coal Belt Decals to clear out some of our backlog of proposed decal sets.... Not only do we have the new sets made right before the Show, but we also have these new sets:  PPG Hi-Sil covered hoppers, lettered for either PPGX, ACFX, or UTCX; General Electric's ILDX covered hoppers in gray; and End lettering for L&N wrecker cranes.  These sets are so new that we don't have any photos of them yet !!!

Louisville a Success !

Our display at the ShowOn March 3, 2001, we attended the NMRA Division 8 Train Show and Sale in Louisville.  This was our second time having a booth at this Show, and we REALLY had a good time.  We sold a number of sets, including some of our newest sets (see below), as well as securing some new custom decal business.  We met a number of wonderful people there, and hopefully they will remember us when they need custom printed decals !!!

The next NMRA Division 8 Train Show and Sale is scheduled for October 20, 2001, and as of right now, we are planning on attending.......

Off to Louisville Again!

We will be returning to the NMRA Division 8 Train Show and Sale on March 3, 2001. This will be our second trip to this show, and we are STILL very excited about it !!! We will again bring all of our decal sets that are ready for sale, plus we will also have the rest of our catalog along with us in electronic format for printing there, if needed. As before, we are planning on coming to the Show with the printer and a computer so we can print "special run" decals for people while at the show. If you need directions or have any questions about this show, please email us and we'll help you out !!!

Here's the Awards !!!

As discussed below, two of our decal demonstrator models recently won awards at a local modeling contest. Well, we finally received the awards, and so we thought we'd show them to you.... Here's the Golden Oak Athearn SW7 model's FIRST PLACE award, and here is the SECX Life-Like Proto2000 GP20 model's SECOND PLACE award.

New SECX Hopper Car Decal!!

During the Christmas slowdown around here, we finally got the SECX hopper car sets finished. They are specially made to fit the Walthers 4-bay 100-ton hopper car, their stock #4900. Although not an exact match, this is the closest mass-produced car available to model these cars with. Therefore, the decals have been sized to match the rib spacing of this model. Here is a photo of one of the cars with the new set used on it.

Models Win Again !!!

Recently, two of our decal demonstrator models, the Golden Oak Unit #1 andSouth East Coal #2006, were entered in a local modeling contest. Well, they took first and second place, respectively, in the Diesel Locomotive class.... Ok, so they were the only two models entered in the class, but they still won !!! Maybe next time there will be more competition......

Louisville was a BLAST!!!

We went to the NMRA Division 8 Train Show and Sale on November 4, 2000. This was our first time selling decals at a show, so we were very excited about it !!! The sets we had available at the Show included the South East set, the Golden Oak set, and the South Louisville Shops set. We also took the printer and a computer with us and printed some "special run" decals for a few individuals while at the show {Hope you liked them, Gary and Terrell}, plus we also made some good contacts for some potential future work. Hopefully some of those will work out well.....

After the Show, we all went to Kingfish in Louisville to celebrate.... I love that restaurant !!! Anyway, we are planning on going back to their next Show, which is in early March, 2001. Hope to see you there !!!

Congratulations Anthony from Coal Belt Decals!!!!

We have some good news!! One of our customers {and friend} Anthony entered a model of a South East Coal GP20 in a regional-sized contest recently and WON !!! His model came in SECOND PLACE with our decals on it !!!

New Decal Announcements!!

The newest decal set to be released from Coal Belt Decals is the Hazard Express 90's "Chappell" scheme for both truck and trailer. The set includes decals for one truck and trailer, with enough numbers for you to pick through and model the particular truck/trailer you want !! For more information about these trucks, goto our Hazard Express PIP and look at the photos...

Also, we've added an older set to the Catalog that hasn't been printed in a long time. Many years ago, our President was asked to custom paint a TFM AC4400 locomotive. This was one of our first sets ever produced, but still is pretty nice. Please take a look at the model, too...

This site has been assembled to show off our decal sets, both currently available and future releases.

Please follow the links on the left side to help you find the information you are here to find. For instance, our Prototype Information Pages contain more details about the decal's prototypes than what you received with your sets. Please leaf through these to see if you find something that helps you.

Another section you might find useful is the Paint Color Information, which includes a Paint Chart and a table which shows what chemicals to use for stripping paint off a particular model. Any suggestions or comments you have would be welcomed for either of these sections, just email us.

If you want to order any of the current sets, wish to profess your desires for a future set, or have any suggestions for new or improved sets, please feel free to email us at coalbeltdecals@cs.com
