New Sets Announced 03-04-04

Ya'll asked for 'em, now we've got 'em - New decal sets just for ya'll. These new sets include:

ELFX hopper cars (most requested in our poll)
GGPX hopper cars
CEFX gons (not requested but we made it)

We hope that these new sets will inspire you to make new, exciting models for yourself.

New Computer 03-04-04

Well, our good ol' Compaq laptop has bit the dust (and a couple of decal sets too), so we've had to look for a replacement. We have purchased a new (to us) Dell Latitude that we hope will take care of our needs while we are out on the road, and even 'back at the shop'. Keep checking back for more news about the new 'puter.

After all these years of only producing decals in HO scale, we have finally have the technology to make our decal sets in any scale ya'll desire !!! This includes any of the sets in our Catalog as well as any of our Custom orders. If you are interested in more information about this just give us an email and we'll get back to you.

Welcome to the new Coal Belt Decals website. We figured that since we've been around for a while it was time for a new look. We did not change any of the page names or other content, but only the appearance of the site. We sure hope that you like it !!!

More New Stuff

We have *finally* updated the website's catalog and some other sections, so be sure to check the Catalog page for all the new stuff. We have done some reoganization of the page so that it (hopefully) makes more sense and easier to find what you're looking for.

More New Decals Announced

With much help from Mr. Anthony Hardy, we have introduced a series of decals for the L&N PS-3 3-bay 15-panel 80-ton hoppers. There are numerous sets in this series due to many differences in the prototypes, and thanks to Mr. Hardy's help, we will (eventually) have all the varieties for ya'll. Right now, we have 4 of the potential 8 sets available for sell, and they are defined on a table so you can pick the correct set. Each set has subtle differences based on date built, builder, and many other items. If you are confused about which set to purchase, please email us at coalbeltdecals@cs.com.

We also have a few other Private Owner decals to announce at this time. These include lettering for a Louisville Scrap Materials (LSMX) gondola, a Mansbach Metal (MMC) gondola, Kentucky Utilities 4-bay 100-ton hoppers, and Virginia Power 3-bay 100-ton hopper cars. We do not yet have any photos or other information posted regarding these sets, so if you are curious about these, please email us!!

New Product Line Announcements

We would like to announce two new product lines will be joining the CBD family - COAL and FIBER OPTIC CABLE.

Well, acutally, the coal product is coal slag, but it looks like prototype coal in the hopper cars. We will be offering this in two different sizes, one larger size (like lump or block coal in HO scale) and one smaller size (more like stoker or "flood loaded" coal in HO scale). Please visit this new section if you're interested in this product.

The fiber optics are actually 32-strands of 1mm diameter fiber optic strands. For more information about this new product, visit it's page at it's page.

New page on this site... "WANTED"

We have posted a new page here on the Coal Belt Decals website where you can help us. It's a list of specific things that we need to either begin, complete or update a decal set that we have. Please follow this link to the WANTED page and see if there is anything there that you can help us with.

As always, our "Finders Fee" for supplying information is between 2 and 5 of the decal sets you help us make, and is negotiable based on the information.

This site has been assembled to show off our decal sets, both currently available and future releases.

Please follow the links on the left side to help you find the information you are here to find. For instance, our Prototype Information Pages contain more details about the decal's prototypes than what you received with your sets. Please leaf through these to see if you find something that helps you.

Another section you might find useful is the Paint Color Information, which includes a Paint Chart and a table which shows what chemicals to use for stripping paint off a particular model. Any suggestions or comments you have would be welcomed for either of these sections, just email us.
